Hokkaido Azuki Beans

Thanks to the rich volcanic farmland of Hokkaido, Japan, azuki beans grown in that region are larger, sweeter, and better-tasting than any other azuki in the world. Considered the most digestible of beans, in Oriental medicine the azuki (also known as aduki or adzuki) is reputed to have properties useful for healing kidney disorders. It is a good source of phosphorus, potassium, iron and calcium, and contains some A & B vitamins. Azuki has the best carbohydrate-to-protein ratio of the colored beans.
